Your excursion begins with a minibus ride from Salamanca. We will visit Segovia, the birthplace of kings and queens, and the city where Queen Isabella I of Castile was crowned. You will discover fascinating facts about the Roman aqueduct, an engineering masterpiece. Segovia’s Jewish Quarter is well preserved, and we will explain its Jewish heritage and historical significance in Spain. The Alcazar is said to have inspired Walt Disney’s castle in Snow White. Walk through its halls and enjoy breathtaking views.
After some free time for lunch, we will travel to Ávila. You will hear the stories and anecdotes behind the construction of its famous medieval walls and its Gothic cathedral, the first of its kind in Spain. Wander through its charming medieval streets and learn about the history of this city, birthplace of Saint Teresa of Jesus. Don’t forget to try the famous “yemas”, a traditional sweet, and learn about how they are made.
After visiting Ávila, we will return to Salamanca.
